Planning a party, but feeling under pressure? Don’t panic! You’ve totally got this! Whether you’re celebrating a big birthday or a new home, there’s always a good reason to throw a party. If deciding to host a party at home seems like a good idea when you invited everyone, but the reality of organizing it is stressing you out take a deep breath and read on to find out how you can make planning your next party a total breeze.
Make a List
Making a list may sound obvious, but it’s surprising how much easier it is to have your to-do list on paper rather than floating around in your head. Get started by writing down every element of the party, e.g. food, music, entertainment, etc. Once you’ve got that written down it’s time to break each of these elements down into jobs, once you get started you’ll be flying through the planning stage and overflowing with ideas on how you can take your party to the next level.
To Cater or Not to Cater?
Everyone coming to your party is going to expect there to be some food on offer, but it’s up to you whether you stick to snack items, or go that step further with a full buffet. If opting for a full buffet, you may want to call in an outside caterer is you feel that you will be under too much pressure to prepare the food yourself. On the other hand, if you love to cook, then you may relish the challenge of whipping up the food yourself.
If your party is taking place over the summer months, you may decide to get out the BBQ and grill up some delicious food for your guests. If you do choose to take the BBQ route, just remember that you are likely to need an extra pair of hands to either take over the BBQ while you greet guests and fill up drinks; otherwise you’ll end up feeling pretty frazzled and will miss most of the party as you’ll be continually rushing around.
It’s all in the Details
It’s the extra details that make a party go from good to great. Additional details don’t mean spending lots of time and stress sorting them out, they are merely features that bring that extra ‘something’ to your gathering. Photo booths are an excellent example of an extra detail that delivers maximum impact after all everyone loves a photo booth. Hiring a photo booth from a company such as Booth Boy is easy to do, and will bring the opportunity for loads of extra fun to your party as everyone plays around in front of the camera. Food-related features are always a big hit and look great too. Sweet carts, ice cream carts, chocolate fountains and candy floss machines are all popular choices for parties and can often be hired in with minimum effort.
Don’t forget that parties are supposed to be fun so don’t forget to enjoy yourself too.
