Finding the perfect job can be a very long-winded process. If you’re an independent thinker then you might be looking for a career which allows you to really spread your wings. You might not be opposed to the idea of working in a team, but you want a job role that allows you to excel on an individual level too. These are the best job roles for independent thinkers.
Lawyer
You might want to consider a career in law if you’re an independent thinker with an analytical mind. Being a lawyer is an incredibly rewarding job with lots of room for career progression as time goes on. Obviously, it requires a lot of studying and practice. You’ll learn a lot on the job; even with all the technical knowledge you gain from books, it’s a career that teaches a lot within individual cases. You have to be prepared for a challenge in terms of solving problems in unique situations, but that’s where the independent thinking factors into the equation. It can be a social career, but you will be able to do a lot of the research on your own. If you’re looking for a job role that lets you flourish on a personal level then this could be right for you.
Trucker
For those who like to travel, a career in trucking might be perfect. Not everybody is happy behind a desk. Some people need to get out there and see things. If that sounds like you then this job role could have everything you need. It’s definitely a career for independent thinkers; you’d be working alone, and that means you’d have to plan your routes carefully. It’s a job that requires careful preparation and, at times, problem-solving. You should also check out a driving academy such as CRST. It’s important to get the training and qualifications necessary to pursue such a career.
Teacher
A job in the world of education might be best-suited to you if you have a caring personality and the desire to shape the next generation. It’s a career that’s perfectly geared towards independent thinkers because there is no real manual for teaching a class of students. Every individual person is different. No two classes are the same. You have to be able to think on the spot and come up with engaging ways for young people to connect with the material you’re teaching. That’s the real challenge of being a teacher.
Social media manager
If you’re skilled when it comes to your social media pages then you might be able to turn this into a career. Being able to build a following and keep those followers engaged with your content is a real talent in the modern world, and businesses are starting to realize that. It’s why new jobs are emerging in the field of social media management. If you have the ability to think independently to spot trends and post content that engages a large audience then you should look for job opportunities that allow you to utilize this talent.
I would love to be a social media manager – and manage my social media from anywhere in the world that my heart desires. That would be unreal.

Thanks for sharing, I love a lot of these ideas. Especially social media managers. Do you know what kind of experience companies usually require for this?

Thank you!!! I’m so glad to hear that you found the ideas helpful. Usually companies want you to know how to manage multiple platforms as well as social media scheduling sites like HootSuite and Buffer. Also companies really look for social media managers to have experience in SEO and working on campaigns, but that’s just the basics. But it also depends on the size of the company, smaller companies may not require as much in depth knowledge.
