How To Level Up in 2019

How To Level Up in 2019

We’re almost an entire month into 2019 and often when a new year starts people are thinking about change and how this year might be different. You might be wanting a fresh start but not know how to go about it, and sadly, a new year it doesn’t automatically change things, you have to do this for yourself, so what are the best ways to do this? Here are a few tips on how to level up in 2019!

Try New Things

Starting the year with a positive attitude is a must. To change things, you must try new things,  something so simple as trying new foods. Say Yes to things you wouldn’t have said yes to before. Read books you wouldn’t ordinarily read, or go to events you wouldn’t have gone to before. Take more significant risks! Get out of your comfort zone and throw yourself into a whole new start.

Educate Yourself

This might mean taking a new class, getting a new hobby, learning a different language or doing research on a topic or career you’re interested in. For example, if you want a new job, do some research on that field and read a recruitment blog. If you’re going to save money, learn the best ways to do it. If you don’t feel like reading or you don’t have time to read, there are countless podcasts and YouTube channels out there with great info. There is information available on just about everything so whatever it is you want, there are resources to help you.

Don’t Let Failure Stop You

Failure is okay, remember that. Failure is a way to move you onto the next step, to show you what not to do next time. Be prepared for failure and don’t wallow in it, learn from it and let it strengthen you.

Talk To New People

Open yourself up to new opportunities by attending events, talks, joining groups or going to networking events. Look for opportunities to speak to people – introduce yourself to that neighbor who doesn’t speak, strike up a conversation with that familiar face at the gym or the supermarket. One of the best icebreakers is a good compliment. You never know what new people may bring to your life, so be open to it and all the possible new experiences.

Be Willing To Change

Don’t expect different results if you continue the same old habits. If things weren’t going well all 2018, then be open to change. What behaviors, thoughts, or habits can you change? This is the best way to level up and grow.

Write Down Your Goals

Businesses usually have mission statements and a plan of where they are going and what they plan to achieve for their fiscal year, do the same for yourself. If you lose your way, you can always refer back to it or feel proud when you have accomplished one of your goals and know you are on the right path. Try making a legit vision board.

Don’t Try To Fit In

Embrace being unique and stand out. There is nothing wrong with that. I know I’m a weirdo, but I think that makes me who I am, and I’m a pretty dope person! Be who you are, it’s the best way to succeed in life. Also, don’t get hung up on being perfect because perfection does not exist!

Be Selfish

It’s perfectly ok to be selfish and to take care of your own needs. You will not move forward or achieve what you want if you are constantly thinking about others and their feelings and needs. Think about what is right for you and if that means leaving your job or leaving your family and friends to move away then you have to do it! Rid yourself of toxic energy that comes from others, but also look within and check yourself and come to terms with your own toxic behavior. Lastly, focus on yourself and mind your business! And that is how you level up in 2019!
