After Christmas came in like a wrecking ball and hit my bank account, I told myself I would stop spending money on things I didn’t need. I turned a blind eye to advertisements and sales, but I knew there was only a matter of time before I gave in to the advances of my favorite companies. I had no idea the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette was coming out, then I started seeing it everywhere – YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, everywhere. Supposedly, the palette won’t be available at Macy’s, Dillard’s, and other stores for weeks. I like to try the products out at the store before I make my purchase, but I couldn’t hold out, and just like that, my little spending hiatus was over.

Here are my thoughts on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette:
Pros
- 18 lip colors for $48 and free shipping
- The quality – my lips didn’t feel dry, the shades are very pigmented
- The brush/spatula and mixing plate – I’m ready to get creative
- The shades are matte
Cons
- I wish the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette would’ve included a mirror (hopefully vol. 2 will have one)
- The primary colors could use a bit more product, I’ll probably be using them more to mix colors
- Too many nude toned shades
Overall, I really like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette. I think it’s well worth the money. Do I think these lip colors are the greatest of all time? No, and I will continue to buy from other companies, but I like the idea of this palette and what it allows you to do. I look forward to more of these palettes, hopefully not too soon though; I need time to recuperate financially.
this palette is so surprising! i don’t own it, and i have no interest in buying it (just not my thing) but i’m really impressed with the quality. i don’t usually expect much from lip palettes, but the pigmentation alone seems really incredible to me. i’m dying over that blue, and the white is surprisingly nice. awesome review!

Thank you! 🙂 I was surprised by the quality too! The blue was one of my favorite shades, and the white was pretty surprising. It was pretty good for volume 1.

I agree with the part about the nudes. I am going to attempt to rock all of them, even if I have to wear a liner. But it seems like you are slaying it in all the shades! What did you think about the yellow, I have heard mixed reviews on that shade in particular.

Thanks for the compliment!!! ☺ I could not get the yellow to show up, it was the most disappointing color in the palette. I expected the white to act the same way but it surprised me.

the best thing about this palette must be the ability to customize your own shade, easier than regular lipsticks. right?

Yep! The mixing plate and spatula make it so much easier. The only negative thing about it is that it’s easy to waste product. I scoop out a little too much each time.

😍😍😍 that palatte looks so amazing! And I have dark skin so it’s good to know that it works great for our skin tone. Also customizable?? I need this.

Girl, yes! I’ve seen a lot of reviews, but only a few by women of color. I haven’t really played around with this palette as much as I want to, but I can’t wait to see what I come up with. I would definitely recommend it! ♥
